Another Face? Plus some carving.

Peggy Sue has been rather neglected for some time and I decided it must have been due to my last paint job I did on her face.

It just wasn't right...

So off it came!

With some trepidation and my Schoenhut book in front of me...

I tried again.

Part the way through...

Still needing some touch ups I think, but leaving like this for a few days to see how Peggy Sue likes it.

Hmmm...I wonder.

Yesterday I got out my wood carving equipment and started working on a Hitty doll for a friend.

This wood is very difficult to carve so the going is slow.

In fact I may swap to some different wood.

A little progress, and then I had to call it quits as I am pacing myself in order to avoid too much pain.

Connery & Bullock arrive

Much excitement was a foot today as we welcomed two travellers all the way from the USA.

Connery and Bullock made the final leg of their journey on our friendly tortoise, Humphrey.

They wait outside for a while deciding whether this looks like a suitable residence...checking out the garden, shrubs and herbs available in the garden.  Finding it to their satisfaction, they made their way inside where they were welcomed by the Hittys of Rose Cottage.

Among the welcoming committee where of course Hitty Patience, Hitty Granny Estelle and Hitty Moana.

The Hitty girls hope to help Sean and Sandra settle into their new home, lots needs to be done, and many hands make light work.  The gnomes are happy to be in such a welcoming place.

These wonderful dolls can be bought here

Hitty has her own blog and a new dress!

Hitty has a new dress to protect her modesty.  I have set up a new blog  just for her over here.  I have returned to  blogspot  for this new blog as I am struggling quite a bit with the layout of wordpress and uploading photos etc... While in some ways it seems simple, in other ways I find it more difficult getting the photos in the right order and just getting used to all the differences.  I guess it is simply a case of not liking change too much.  Anyway Hitty has made her first blog post, so if you'd like to read it pop on over and say hi!

I will keep using this one for the rest of my doll companions, and continue to keep Sasha/Gregor and Hitty to their own separate blogs.

My first Hitty!

My first Hitty arrived today.  She travelled all the way from Argentina in a lovely box.  Oh dear though, she needs finishing!  I'm not renowned for being very good with a paintbrush so this could be interesting.  Not that I know where to start, what to do or even what to use!  Watch this space...  In the meantime I need to think of a name for her.

Of course her name might come once she starts to evolve and develop...who knows?!
