A new dress for Peggy Sue

I haven't done any sewing for a month now, and have been a bit stuck for ideas.  I want to make some more 'authentic' style clothing for my Schoenhuts but don't have the patterns and will need to adapt those I have to see if I can come up for something.  

The old thinking cap wasn't working especially well today, so I tried the one pattern I did have that was supposed to be for Schoenhut dolls.  I used some fabric I had plenty of.  Not convinced by it at all, but Peggy Sue was pretty gracious about the dress and didn't mind wearing it.

I think the sleeves were a bit too wide and the lace around the neckline not really large enough, but it was all I had on hand.  Things to note if I choose to make this pattern again.

Quiet times?

Peggy Sue has been very quiet since returning home from the USA and the Sasha Festival

Maybe she has had a bit of jet lag...perhaps it all seems a bit 'tame' after all her adventures, or it could be that she just needs a bit of quiet time to herself.  

She tries to see if she can see the fish.

All she can see is her reflection today.

Bertie on a mission

Bertie is marching down the garden on a mission...

Where are you off to Bertie?  Peggy Sue asks.

I'm going to look at the tadpoles nearly frogs.  He tells her.

Rory said there were lots of them!

You have to be really quiet to see them he said

Plus you have to keep really really still.

Bertie says really still and quiet

He looks intently

Peggy Sue stands quietly behind him and they look and watch..

I wonder how many they saw today?

Bertie looks like a little bruiser!

Peggy Sue & Anne-Marie

Peggy Sue is out in the garden taking Little Owen and friends for a walk in the pram.

Anne-Marie comes along and says hello.

The two chat for a while

Anne-Marie hasn't spent a lot of time with her little sister lately

Peggy Sue looks up at Anne-Marie...not sure what she is asking...

Looks like Anne-Marie is replying to her anyway.

I would have loved to have known what they were talking about.

A little while later Peggy Sue seems to be continuing alone, although I think something has caught her attention up in the trees.

She looks up, I wonder if she can see the cheeky squirrel.

Some time later she is seen sitting near the pond with Little Owen.

I think they were seeing if they could see any tadpoles and frogs...

The American Girls in the Garden

We have had a lovely Saturday and some of the girls finally got a chance to spend some time in the garden.
