No Will Power!

So I have absolutely no will power whatsoever...although in my defence, I did hold off for three visits before I succumbed and went back for the fourth time.  Of course by this time there was less choice...which in a way was good.  By the third time I went back to see them there were only two Ashlyn dolls left, some Kendall dolls and I think two Emerson dolls.  Of course when I decided I just HAD to have one, there was only one Ashlyn left which made my decision so much easier.

Her box.

Well protected inside the box

She has a hair net on her hair to keep it tidy.

I like the way these dolls are packaged as they are easy to remove.

Freed from the box.

She has a pretty little face and I love the smattering of freckles.

Out in the garden she watches our Sheltie try to photobomb the picture!

Waving hello.  Actually this arm was VERY stiff and almost unmovable, so hoping it will loosen up a little over time.

Wearing a little pair of white shoes I had tucked away.

I couldn't wait to knit her a Christmas dress.

All very seasonal now.  I just LOVE her little knees, they are so cute.

I have called her Noelle.  (I know very original for this time of year!)

My group of girls all in their Christmas dresses I have knitted for them.

An extra girl has sneaked into the picture...my Sasha girl Ziva, thought she should join them as well as she too has a hand knitted Christmas dress.

Embroidered Apron Challenge.

My creation and entry for the Bleuette Sewing Clubs 'Embroidered Apron Challenge' was made using an old blouse of mine which had sweet embroidery on the collar.  I used this collar to make pockets as every apron needs useful pockets!

A little knitted dress

I knitted a little dress for Hazel the other day.  I think she looks really cute in it.

The wool is one of my lovely New Zealand yarns, a Merino, possom, alpaca mix so very soft.

Six Weeks on...

Doll Decision six weeks on...

So I am focusing on my 'companion' dolls at present.

Hazel - my wooden Bleuette
Peggy Sue - Schoenhut
Henry - Gregor
Hitty Madge - Hand carved Hitty

These four take most of my focus... with the two BJDs mentioned below a little - not as much as I was expecting.  I will have to watch this and review my thoughts on them later on.

Ruby May - Blue Fairy MSD
Olive June - Blue Fairy MSD

I have my special Nini doll Jonelle out with her friend, my favourite Sasha Course Doll, and they sit quietly doing their own thing.  I enjoy being able to glance at them whenever the mood strikes.

A couple of times I've got one of the 'other' dolls out with the though I would do something with them, but they have gone straight back again.

The Sasha dolls are slightly different - they are all in my studio, and I occasional use some for photo stories.  A few will be involved in the 'Summer Music Festival' that my friend and I will be holding in a couple of weeks time.

Most I haven't even touched or given much thought to.  This could be a good thing.

I am especially enjoying Hazel.

She is such a happy girl and I really like her in her new wig.

July Cover Girl Challenge

The challenge on the AADC Bleuette group this month was 'Cover Girl'

We had to chose an idea from a magazine and make a dress and a scene from it.

I chose this magazine cover  and made Hazel a little yellow dress. (The light was very bad this afternoon though with black clouds looming so the yellow doesn't show very well.

This is the picture I came up with.  She is skipping in the garden with the little dog watching on.

Hazel visits the Garden of the Rose

Although it has been drizzling on and off today, we decided to take a chance during a dry spell to visit the Rose Gardens near us.

Hazel was delighted to accompany me today and loved smelling and looking at all the roses.

She thought they were all so pretty.

Look at this bunch.

She takes a few moments to relax and just soak in the beauty.

She liked the water lilies.

Such pretty colours.

Repurpose/Upcycle Linen Challenge and Prize.

In June I took part in the June 'Upcycle Linen Challenge' on the Yahoo AADC Bleuette Group.

I didn't have any vintage hankies or linens and was very kindly sent some from my friend.

This was the first handkerchief I used.  I thought the greens would suit Hazel.

Here she is modelling the dress that I submitted for the challenge.

I also finished another one in June, but didn't get to upload the photo.

This time I chose a blue hanky

I wasn't convinced this photo did the dress or Hazel justice which is partly why I didn't post it on the group.

I took this photo today in the garden.  Hazel is wearing a new wig I came across while sorting through some of my smaller wigs.  I think she looks really cute in it.

You can imagine my surprise when I won the challenge - yes me who very rarely if ever, wins anything!  The prize arrived while I was away and Hazel was delighted to find a gorgeous handmade dress.  She looks so pretty in it.

Thank you so much Trish for both the linens that enabled me to take part and the wonderful prize.

Sewing for Hazel

I have been doing a little sewing for Hazel recently.

She wanted something green...

So green she got...

Of course she needed a cardigan to match.

This little dress was made for the Summer Challenge on the Bleuette group I am in.

I liked the pattern so much I made another, experimenting with some bold reds.

ADAD 2016 - January - A Month of Hazel Bleuette

A month of Hazel Bleuette.

Now the question is whether I do one doll for February, or different dolls?!
