Capturing an expression & knitting

I was sitting on the settee last night finishing off the onsie/jumpsuit I was making for Chrissy when I glanced up and caught the most wonderful expression from Anne-Marie.  I thought I would try to capture it on film this morning, but don't really think I have managed to.

She looks so wonderful just sitting where she is, I might have to try and take some more pictures to see if I can capture the essence I saw last night...

Chrissy in the meantime is delighted with her onsie/jumpsuit which is part of the January KAL on Ravelry.  Just got to finish the mittens and hat now IF I have enough wool left over.

I really like this on her, as indeed I think she approves of it as well.

Connory has been working hard...

Sean has been busy since arriving and managed to source some materials to make a table for the house and a couple of chairs.

Sandra is very pleased with the table and said it is just the right height.

She tries out the chair for size as well and agrees that it too is just the right size to sit at the table.

Thank you Sean for working so hard.

A couple of garden toadstools have also been made and just need their spots painted on.

Connery & Bullock arrive

Much excitement was a foot today as we welcomed two travellers all the way from the USA.

Connery and Bullock made the final leg of their journey on our friendly tortoise, Humphrey.

They wait outside for a while deciding whether this looks like a suitable residence...checking out the garden, shrubs and herbs available in the garden.  Finding it to their satisfaction, they made their way inside where they were welcomed by the Hittys of Rose Cottage.

Among the welcoming committee where of course Hitty Patience, Hitty Granny Estelle and Hitty Moana.

The Hitty girls hope to help Sean and Sandra settle into their new home, lots needs to be done, and many hands make light work.  The gnomes are happy to be in such a welcoming place.

These wonderful dolls can be bought here

Studying?

Peggy Sue thought she would do some maths today before starting her colouring in.  She likes numbers.  Her little guinea pig is sitting on her desk helping her.

Apricot Dress for Anne-Marie

I've just finished the Apricot knitted dress I started New Year's Eve.

I think it looks lovely on her and fits well, all I did was change the waist line to plain rib and lengthened the skirt.

The next one I make for her will have long sleeves like the one I made Peggy Sue.

Cavy Cottage?

It was an important day for the Cavy family, they were going to view a house with the possibility of moving it to Camellia Crescent, or having one similar to it being built there.

Ronald, from Rabbit Reality, was showing them round and extolling the virtues...

A lovely large window to let in plenty of light, fabulous decking with a surprise...

Cherry and Chive Cavy listen intently while their children Clover and Cosmos wait quietly wondering why Ronald Rabbit isn't wearing his work suit...  they wander towards the window to have a look, while Ronald shows Chive and Cherry the surprise under the deck.

A spa pool/hot tub!  Perfect for soaking in to relax those tired muscles after a hard days work.

He shows them inside...

Clover and Cosmos are very excited about the verandah at the top of the house.  You can see for miles they exclaim!

Cherry and Chive wander around inside having a good look while Ronald waits outside respectfully to give them time to take it all in.

Lots to think about and plan.

Happy New Year! 1st January 2013

Happy New Year!

I have some exciting ideas and plans afoot for this year.

A friend and I will be opening the 'Schoenhut School of the Arts'... the blog for which is now a work in progress.  This will be a school for all the Arts, such as music, art, drama and a world of imagination and fun that our Schoenhut dolls will be attending.  So far there will be four girls.  Anne-Marie and Rosey will be learning the violin, Peggy Sue is interestrd in learning the piano, although we don't have one yet.  Sally hasn't decided what she is going to play.

There is so much to do and I am really excited about this joint project.  I thought I would start with making the music books and manuscript paper.

On my needles...

A dress for Anne-Marie.
