Wet Play Day

What to do when the weather is wet, dull and miserable?  Why play of course! Forget the house work, this was much more fun.

April was delighted to get back into her yoga gear!

Alicia chose a new outfit to wear.

Although comfortable enough in herself to be a little 'blue' in her dress sense, Blue is still rather shy.

She still seems a little unsure of herself and her surroundings.

The boys, Tom & Brian met up to do some skateboarding.

Penelope Bluebell went out to do a spot of shopping and saw Wren, Blue and Alicia chatting.

Parker walks home from College and meets up with the boys and Trisha

The Scooby Gang are discussing their next case.

April is still practising her yoga.

Peter S is wondering whether he can be bothered with a game of chess...not that he is likely to find anyone else to join him at this stage...

Nelson and Tane Mahuta are discussing the World Cup Rugby.

Introducing Tane Mahuta

So it seems I have been very remiss and I forgot to introduce Tane Mahuta!  Tane arrived back in early May, again taking advantage of the special offer the Makies Lab had.   I did take his arrival and unpackaged/deboxing - or is it 'detubing' photos!

I wanted to try to design a 'Maori' boy - or at least as close as I could get to one.

This is who I came up with, although I widened his eyebrows a bit as well.

It was exciting waiting for him to arrive to see how close he is to my design.

Two weeks later....

That familiar yellow DHL package.

Tube and goodies - yes a few goodies came with him.

Oh dear...he looks like he had a bit of a rough journey!

Yup, doesn't look good.

Ooh ahh...do you have a bit of a headache Tane?

I love the way they are packaged - tided with a simple bow and ribbon, makes for much easier unwrapping than some of the more commercial dolls, where you often take your life into your own hands trying to get them out of the plastic, ties etc...  A case in point is the packaging of the Monster High dolls - too much sharp plastic!

The glasses  are for April and the  cool red shoes are for one of the boys - they came with him instead of the usual black flats which is fantastic.

Now that is better, Tane can see straight at last!

I am pretty pleased with how he turned out!

He soon demanded some more suitable clothes - as they all seem to do.  Not that there is anything wrong with the clothes they arrived in, it is just the range for the boys in particular is a bit limited, and they just haven't suited my lads.

Leather jacket and waistcoat later.

This is more like it, but hey, let's ditch the red shoes!

Yeah man, much better!

Tane Mahuta's portrait photo.

Getting to know his character....

Seems he is partial to a game of pool.

Uh oh...April has spotted the new boy....she specialises in a bit of flirting it seems....Wren will be relieved she has turned her attentions away from Nelson.

Rehearsals begin....

The team have started rehearsing for the next big Scooby Doo movie.

They are pretty sure it is going to be titled 'Where IS Scooby Doo?'

'Scooby, Scooby Doo, Where are you?'

It has to be surely as Scooby Doo has not yet joined them on location.

Plus their screen shots and rehearsals involved looking for Scooby Doo.

Fred & Daphne search the undergrowth

Velma and Shaggy search various hideaways while Shaggy calls Scooby's name.

Later on they regroup...

He just can't be found anywhere!  Shaggy cries.

Fred tries to put it into perspective....

...that is until he sees the Scooby Wagon!

This just WILL NOT do.  He exclaims!  Barbie!  That has just got to go!

I can't possibly be seen driving something that has 'Barbie' written all over it, what will people think? Fred complains.

Velma tries to calm him down and tells him to at least go for a test drive and assures him that something WILL be done about the Barbie signs.

The girls cheer him on.  Once behind the wheel Fred seems to be a little happier.

The girls wave him off on his test drive....

....hoping that the set and prop designers will be doing something about the 'Barbie' insignia.

Cast:

Velma played by Wren
Shaggy played by Nelson
Daphne played by April
Fred - himself.

And then there is another!

They say you can't have just one...whether that be chocolate, books, biscuits, crisps, dolls, or whatever your 'vice' or passion.  I know I am completely hopeless in my desire to initially just have one - it wasn't long before I fell of the 'Only One Makie' bandwagon as is evidenced by previous blog posts.  Of course when Makies lab announced their 25% discount AND free postage, well that was too good to turn away and Limited Edition Juniper hoped in my basket - at £36.75 it would have been silly for her not to have!  Hey lets face it, if I was the sort of person who had my nails done, wore makeup, went to the hairdressers regularly I would spend way more than that every couple of weeks and more than that on one nail session!

So here she is in her arrival box - and this time instead of arriving with little black shoes, she came with a pair of red boots which will be fun.

Lid off the box, a simple case of undoing the ribbon and she is soon let free.

She immediately lets me know her name isn't Juniper but Alicia - not sure where that came from as it is not a name I have ever considered or thought about, but there you go.

She is going to be my wild child - I can see that already.  She is wearing a top made for my barbie doll in the early seventies. Her hair has been let out of its band and hopefully once settled down the wig cap won't be so obvious as it is in the other photos.  I don't like to see the wig caps.

She takes a bit of a wander outside.

I think I will have fun designing a wardrobe for this girl...

Meeting up with the others.

Wren is still a little bit unsure of April and her designs on Nelson....

Nelson is  being rather cosy and hoping to reassure Wren that she has nothing to worry about!
