Music Making

There has been much music making happening this weekend.

Ruby has heard there will be a concert in the summer and has started to prepare her pieces in the hope she will get a chance to perform.

She seemed to be at the piano each day.

It is good to see her so passionate about her music.

Elsewhere in the cottage...

Peggy Sue was delighted to find Alice who had been 'missing' for a while.

She just loves her rag doll.

Flowers on Friday and a friend comes round to play.

Ruby explores the garden.  She is delighted to see the 'transplanted' forget-me-nots are thriving.

She is wearing a newly designed by myself sweater.

The rhododendrons are lovely and she is amazed at their beauty

May Flower also wanted her photo taken with the rhododendrons.

As did sweet Peggy Sue!

Peggy Sue had her friend Princess Addison round to play this afternoon.

She showed her the flowers

Princess Addison enjoyed the swing!

Look more forget-me-nots Peggy Sue! Princess Addison said.

The two girls enjoyed their time playing together.

Friday Favourites

A few pictures of my BJD girl who I think is going to be called Ruby, as to me she is a real gem!

The cherry blossom is falling and May Flower is enjoying sitting amongst the petals.

Sunny Sunday in the Garden.

I just love days like we have been having...the sun is shining and it is lovely and warm.  Perfect for spending time in the garden.  

Norma Jean enjoys her time in the garden and thinks the flowers are so pretty.

Anne-Marie spends some time reading a favourite book.

May Flower, just enjoys sitting by the tree.

I finished a dress last night - it was a pattern for a Les Cheries doll.

It fits Clara well, but I prefer slightly shorter dresses on her, so I will make another that is shorter.

She looks so pretty in this colour - fortunately I believe I have enough yarn left to make another.

Miss Still Waiting to be Officially Named tries on the dress...it is not a bad fit for her either.

I like that I can use patterns for Les Cheries for this girl - it means with slightly alterations I have more patterns available to make her things.

A beautiful spring day at Audley End

Today we visited Audley End and I took my Bluefairy girl with me. (She really does need a name!)

It was the most perfect Spring day, warm and bright and the tulips looked gorgeous.

Funny girl, looks a bit uncertain in this photograph.

She enjoyed some rock climbing.

She was pleased to have a new short sleeve cardigan to wear with her dress.

A Walk in the Woods

The morning was bright with not a soul in sight and although destined for school, she decided to risk giving it a miss in favour of spending time in the Bluebell Woods, for surely that is more important than being stuck inside...where things can stagnate...no scent to arouse the senses and no natural images to stir the mind and its imagination.

She arrives...

What's that?  

She turns to make sure she is not being followed

She listens for a while

It seems it was just the breeze 

and so she continues on

She is mindful how she goes to not crush any Bluebells.

Time to just sit and inhale and to enjoy the scent, sight and sound of being...

...surrounded in a sea of blue.

Her journey continues...

...her imagination works overtime.

She rests against the trunk of a tree

feeling grounded 

and at one with nature

Time to move on

Another tree to climb..

and sit upon.

Just listening and being

Enjoying her time outside.
