Contemplating and Downsizing.

It has been a little quiet on here as I have been busy posting on my Sasha blog and of course Henry's blog due to our trip to Arizona and the Sasha Festival.

Peggy Sue did indeed get her own way and made it to the festival...I think she found she got a bit more than she bargained for at times, but she enjoyed herself no end.

Photos of the festival can be found here...

Since April I have been feeling rather overwhelmed by all my dolls.  I thought it would be a transient thing, but I still feel this way several months later and think I need to downsize somewhat.  So the first I am thinking of selling are one of the Lati girls and the little Pukifee.

I realised that I haven't photographed, or played with these dolls all this year, so really it seems a shame for them to be stuck in a cabinet unloved.  I will probably keep the little girl in the middle.

So if anyone is interested, they come complete with their original boxes and I think they have spare hands and wigs....will have to check when I get the boxes down.  I will of course be taking more in depth photographs and descriptions of them.

The other fellow I think will be looking for a new home is my Littlefee Jacob.  I also dearly like him, but he just sits in a chair being neglected...

I will have quite a few other miscellaneous dolls that I hope to sort through over the next couple of weeks.

I think I may well sell on a couple of my Schoenhuts as well, but they will require a bit more thought first.

Jacob & Monkey

Jacob doesn't get much play time and has been somewhat forgotten about over the last few months, just hanging about on the book shelf.  Still he had plenty to read though.

He was surprised to see all the apples on the apple tree today and is showing me a large apple he would like to eat.

He is noticing the changes in the leaves...

...and sits down to have a think about all that is happening around him

Monkey Days:

7/30....Well are we going yet?

Jacob my Littlefee

Jacob (my Fairyland Littlefee) doesn't get many photo opportunities but had been practising his 'casual' pose and wanted me to capture it on film to see if he was 'cool' enough...

He seems to love his New Zealand All Black Shirt as he hasn't taken it off since been given it way back when!

Ponies, Sweaters & Cavies!

I found Peggy Sue quietly playing with her Christmas ponies this morning.  She is deciding what to call them. They remind me of the ponies in the New Forest, or Brumbies from stories I used to read as a child.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jacob has finally received his new sweater that I had been promising to make him, so that is one more thing ticked off my 'To Make' list.
It is a heavily modified pattern which I forgot to make notes as I went along, so will be interesting if I can repeat it at some stage!
He seems quite happy with it...
and tries out some of his 'moves'!
Now for something different.
I have had guinea pigs since I was 7 years old, keeping them as pets, then to exhibit at shows and breed in New Zealand in my early twenties, again just as pets in my late twenties when I came to England to live and then in my late thirties, early forties to show and exhibit again until my Chronic pain problems put paid to that as it was too much work and I could no longer drive long distances.  I still keep what I call my 'old folks' though, and also board cavies for people when they go on holiday.  I have a website here  which really needs updating and something I must do very soon.  This shows some of the lovely piggies I have had and some of which we still have in their 'retirement'.  So I guess you could say I am a real fan of the lovely little animals and as such when I saw these...
the other day, how could I walk by?
Welcome to the family!
Now as for names they are still a work in progress they are either going to be called:
Geraldine, Gilbert, Gertrude & Georgie Guinea Pig
or
Clover, Chive, Cherry & Cosmos Cavy.
They will be living at Camellia Crescent, once their house has been built.
Jumping in puddles
A comment was made the other day about Jacob going outside to play in the mud puddles....well guess what he certainly took on that advice today!
Ready to stomp
and Jump!
Not as deep as he would have liked...
But still good fun.
He wants to send good wishes to his friend Emma and hopes she can see he is okay and having fun.
Jacob & Percival try some clothes on
While I have been busy sorting and photographing more dolls to sell, Jacob and Percival have been rummaging around in the clothes pile to see if anything was suitable and fit them.
Jacob tried on this little jacket that must have come with a doll at some stage.
He likes that it has a pocket and doesn't mind that it does up the 'wrong' way
However....he seemed quite taken with a snazzy jumper
and enjoyed practising some 'cool' poses...
Percival on the other hand didn't have such luck, although he seems to be quite content with what he found to keep him warm...
He said it adds to his 'professor' look and will help him think.  Hmmmm......
A little while later I can hear a tap, tap, tap on the typewriter.  I seems he might be typing up one of his stories.  He is completely oblivious to Topsy and Turvy eyeing up his hair, amazed that it is so similar to theirs!
Jacob arrives
 Last week I noticed that Jacob was looking for a new home, wanting to travel further afield, well I had always admired him and his sister, so who was I to refuse his request?
Well he arrived today, oh the excitement!  Although I think he was slightly overwhelmed at first from all his travels and indignities of arriving unclothed, although safe and sound with his clothes packed safely beside him along with his teddy and frog.  I have to say though that he better be careful Rory doesn't notice the frog, as we all know he is rather a fan of frogs!
Jacob sits quietly while adjusting to daylight after being in a dark travelling box for a week.
He spends some time reassuring his teddy and frog that everything will be okay.
It doesn't take long and Jacob is out exploring the garden.
