So in review, I decided to use Poppy my little Lati Lami BJD as my doll for the December photo a day project so I could ascertain whether she was indeed a 'keeper', having recently sold my other three BJDs.  I am still no closer to really knowing the answer....she is sweet and cute, but I do find her a little hard to pose in comparison to my larger dolls....at the moment we will just wait and see...perhaps she will decide to move on...perhaps she will decide to stay.

ADAD - December: 1 - 10

Having recently been working on downsizing my doll collection, I sold three of my four BJDs.   I couldn't quite bring myself to sell Poppy though and thought to make sure she is a 'keeper' I would spend the month with her doing the 'A Doll a Day' photo challenge. 

The first 10 days are below.

Contemplating and Downsizing.

It has been a little quiet on here as I have been busy posting on my Sasha blog and of course Henry's blog due to our trip to Arizona and the Sasha Festival.

Peggy Sue did indeed get her own way and made it to the festival...I think she found she got a bit more than she bargained for at times, but she enjoyed herself no end.

Since April I have been feeling rather overwhelmed by all my dolls.  I thought it would be a transient thing, but I still feel this way several months later and think I need to downsize somewhat.  So the first I am thinking of selling are one of the Lati girls and the little Pukifee.

I realised that I haven't photographed, or played with these dolls all this year, so really it seems a shame for them to be stuck in a cabinet unloved.  I will probably keep the little girl in the middle.

So if anyone is interested, they come complete with their original boxes and I think they have spare hands and wigs....will have to check when I get the boxes down.  I will of course be taking more in depth photographs and descriptions of them.

The other fellow I think will be looking for a new home is my Littlefee Jacob.  I also dearly like him, but he just sits in a chair being neglected...

I will have quite a few other miscellaneous dolls that I hope to sort through over the next couple of weeks.

I think I may well sell on a couple of my Schoenhuts as well, but they will require a bit more thought first.

Three little girls.

Three little girls enjoyed the sunshine today and played out in the garden.

But what happened to Xanthe?  Where did she get to?

New shoes for little girls.

The little girls got new shoes yesterday - seems all of the shoes sold for 'Lati' are too big, but these are a better fit than the others I bought and with socks or leggings they fit better.

Xanthe and Poppy don't seem to be complaining anyway.

Xanthe is happy she got a new little summer outfit to wear today...although she thinks they might be okay for sleep wear as well!

Shoes for Xanthe?

Xanthe was pleased to finally have a pair of shoes arrive for her today...

She has a little giggle to herself...

They are miles too big!  They were advertised for Lati Yellows...said they might be a little big, but I didn't think they would be this much too big!  Sigh, still no shoes for little Xanthe.  These were so cute too.

A bit of this and a bit of that

Using up the rest of the 'Menthol' yarn I added white to the skirt to make the latest knit dress.

I quite like this - it is very fresh looking.  I am currently doing the same with some of the blueberry colour I had left over.

During the week little Xanthe went for a walk in the garden.

She especially liked the little violets - them being just her size.

This cheeky fellow has joined the Maori Tribe - soon to be revealed...

Freebies - always good!

While looking around a local vintage emporium today I noticed a little chair and table on the ground outside. I asked the man what he was going to do with them and he said he had just pulled them out of the skip to put on the fire he had going, but did I want them, if so I could have them.

Yes please I said, knowing they would be perfect for Xanthe, my little Lati girl.

All that was wrong was the seat was missing a base - easily rectified.

I cut a piece of board to size and covered with a wad of stuffing and some fabric.
