Muriel Makes - Lots of sewing.

I have been busy making little dresses for my 'Muriel Makes' shop.  They are currently listed on Facebook but I will be listing them later on my Etsy site when I have taken a few more 'bodice' photos to show the patterns better.

This one has little birds, flowers and butterflies on it.

Blue flowers and little butterflies.

Flowers

Musical notes

Polka Dots

The next  three I made for my friend Jane in New Zealand for her Makie girl Linnet.

Pedigree Elizabeth

I thought I would make a dress for my Pedigree Elizabeth today.

She is very pleased with it and I love the fit on her - just perfect.

This dress is made from a pattern especially designed for Elizabeth.

She is now eagerly awaiting some shoes!

This hard plastic doll was made in the 1950s by Pedigree.  She is 'Elizabeth the Dressmaking Doll' and I think she is just lovely.  Compared to my other dolls she is so light!

Elephants!

I finished sewing a dress I was making for the Sasha girls today...I had made a similar dress last year, but sold it, and wanted one to keep.

Seems Peggy Sue had other ideas about it being for Sasha and claimed it for herself!

Giving a sneaky view of the matching pantaloons.

Wistfully looking out at the garden....too cold out there to go barefoot.

Antique look.

Of course every self respecting girl must also have an elephant if she is going to wear a dress with elephants on it!

Peggy Sue loves her elephant who is almost as old as she is.

A new day, a new dress appears in the magic trunk.

Dum diddly dum a new day a new dress...

Stripes & Roses!

A cheeky look

Are you hiding something behind your back Peggy Sue?

Some how I think she looks like she is up to mischief.

A short while later....

Hello Peggy Sue...I see you have Little Owen with you.

Is that who you had hidden behind your back?  I haven't seen Little Owen for several days, I wondered where he was.

The magic trunk surprises Peggy Sue again.

Ooh look, what shall I wear today?  A new dress!

I must take off my hat...

It can sit there for now...

Next I need to take off my dress.

I am going to cheat and keep my shoes on...

I think I will wear the blue one.

Carefully does it.

Must hang my other dress up...oh look another new one, I will try that one on tomorrow.

I like blue!

Unfortunately there wasn't much fabric so not a lot of gathering was able to be done with this dress and skirt.

Some more sewing....

Well yesterday's lovely weather has disappeared...should have known it wouldn't last long before the rain came down again.

This is the dress I made yesterday for Peggy Sue that she was wearing in the photograph where she was sitting and dreaming.

I also added the little sun hat, as when the sun is hot, you need protection!  Plus it is the perfect pretty accessory.

Today with it being thundery and wet I thought I would make another dress.

This dress has a real 'nautical' link as it was made from my older son's white naval shirt. He is a navigational officer. I am trying to use only fabrics and notions and other things that I have as I can't really be buying any special fabric at the moment. Unfortunately the navy wasn't quite the same on the collar and on the cuffs, but hey it will do, Peggy Sue is pretty good and rarely complains. A pattern I made up as I went along.
