A dress for Edith

A lovely new outfit arrived for Edith the other day.  It has been made in the same style as an original outfit shown on a doll in the Schoenhut Book

I need to pull the skirt up her waist a bit more as it should be a bit higher.

It looks fabulous on her though.

As I was going to take a photo of something today I noticed two unlikely companions standing together on the wall unit.

The American Girls in the Garden

We have had a lovely Saturday and some of the girls finally got a chance to spend some time in the garden.

Caitlin and Katie enjoy a wander.

Chrissy like to spend some time on her own just thinking...

She felt grounded up against the tree

The Lilac Girls and more

Having been tempted by another doll today, and resisting temptation as  no I do not need another one, I decided to pay the ones I do have some attention.

My assortment of red heads dressed in lilac, inspired by the Lilac flowers.

Peggy Sue discovered the pond today and is delighted with it.

She is wondering when there will be some wildlife in the pond...

She seems to be missing her companion Little Owen...I wonder where he is and what he is getting up to?

Continuing with paying attention to my existing doll family, this Gotz Little Sister 'Katie' doll has been wanting some attention for rather a long time now.  She is still currently known by her stock name, but is wondering whether she would prefer something else.

Being the same size as American Girl dolls means she can share their clothes and has chosen this pretty knit dress to wear today.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

It's a party...

The Dreary's Party is in full swing...although again it seems like Skelly is already past standing upright!

Although we don't celebrate Halloween, three of my girls  want to wish all our friends who DO, a Happy Halloween.

Friday Frolics.

We went down to Southampton today to pick up the Sailor so Peggy Sue came along for the ride and insisting on dressing up for the occasion...

I don't know whether anyone noticed...but Peggy Sue eventually told me that she is really a brown eyed girl and the other week she underwent face surgery yet again... whilst it isn't perfect... I  am finally accepting I will never paint her to be how I imagine her face to be... I am much happier with her look now - to me it is more 'her'.  She still looks a little cross eyed at times, but hey none of us are perfect!

My little Thomas (Tommy) is enjoying his skateboard with his teddy Stevie (subject to name change)

Autumn wanted to show off her dress without her cardigan on.

Finally I had some 1.5 mm knitting needles arrive in the post yesterday so I was able to knit yet another of these little dresses.  The skirt was knitted on 2 mm needles and the bodice on the 1.5 mm needles, resulting in a much better fit which I am happier with.

Little Bonnie blows a kiss.

She could really do with some shoes!

Lastly....

An Autumn Inspired Outfit.

Joining in with an Autumn Inspired KAL on Ravelry resulted in my lovely redhead Gotz girl finally getting a warmer outfit AND a name.  Goodness knows she has been with me long enough, must be about two years I would think and she has only had one summer dress and no name all this time!

So what is her name?  Well it just had to be Autumn, with that gorgeous auburn hair.

I used a combination of two patterns to make her cardigan and added length to the sleeves as I wanted them to be long sleeves.

Of course a girl needs a hat as well.

I added extra stripes to tie in the colours of the cardigan.

I very nearly sold this girl when I sold all my Gotz dolls, but changed my mind.  I am so glad I did, there is something about her little face that appeals.

One pattern four different dolls.

I have four small dolls, two by Corolle Les Cheries, one by Paola Reina and one by White Balloon.  One of the Les Cheries dolls, a red head called Clara was given to me for Christmas by my Mother in Law and up until a few days ago I hadn't made anything for them (apart from some knitting earlier in the year and last year)  I wanted a versatile pattern that would fit at least two of the dolls.  I was very pleased to find a pattern that actually fits four different dolls!  Although similar in size they do actually have quite different body shapes.  Now this sharing of clothes probably wouldn't always work - particularly given the body size of Sasha Toddler, but due to the type of pattern this is, it works really well.

Yes the poor girls could do with some shoes!  But they will have to wait.  At least they now each have a summer dress.
