Agnes has a visitor.

Agnes really wished her visitor had got dressed out of his sleep wear before coming to see her!

My Muse...

Seems like she may be the muse I needed to get me inspired to sew and knit again - although I really should be making clothes for Sasha dolls for my sales table in a couple of weeks time...but at least I am finally being creative!

Trying a more casual look today.

New sweater and stretch jeans for a walk in the garden.

For a more 'girlie' look, a polka dot dress I also made for her yesterday.

Looking pensive.

She still needs a name...currently I think of her by the name she had when she arrived 'Ember' but for some reason Lisa keeps coming into my mind when I look at her...so I am not sure yet.

A New Dress

Nothing like a new doll to inspire the creative juices, plus I couldn't leave her without dresses now could I?  So this afternoon, after spending most of the day procrastinating over what I SHOULD be doing, I decided to try making a dress for my new girl.  I rummaged through a couple of drawers I have with fabric - most I felt was a bit too florally, or 'little girl' like for her, but then I found some fabric I thought might work, especially in light of her only footwear.

This is what I came up with.

I am pleased with the look and will make some more.

I love the way the breeze has blown her hair across her face.

A Venture into the Unknown

A long time ago, I saw a wonderful BJD for sale on Ebay, but unfortunately she was withdrawn from sale as her owner changed her mind - I am not surprised! She was really special and I have to say the nicest I have ever seen.   Every now and again I look on to see if another takes my eye and they very rarely do...until the other day when I saw a listing for one that immediately caught my eye.  She is a Blue Fairy Tiny Fairy May, MSD  sized which I learnt was 43cm tall - a similar size to my Sasha dolls.  She has been custom painted and I think she is gorgeous. It is going to be a steep learning curve though as I know nothing about these dolls and they are very different to most of my doll collection.

I know, I said no dolls this year...but sometimes rules are made to be broken!

My pictures don't do her justice - yet....I have to get to know her first.

These are her arrival photos.

Her seller kindly added some clothes for her to wear.  I just love her boots!

She looks rather bewildered here....

I found her a long sleeve top that fitted and added a sleeveless knitted jacket and scarf.

The jacket I was knitting last night - it wasn't intended to be for her, in fact it was to be a sweater, but I thought it might work, the other way round with the opening at the front with what she is wearing.    I have nothing else that will fit her!

Just trying a few more photos before I take her outside.

In between showers she has a look round the garden.

Takes time out under a tree.

Plus some more gratuitous shots.

I have a long way to go before I am taking photos of her like those I have often admired of other BJDs but it is early days yet!

Earth Day

Peggy Sue helped plant the flowers into the new wooden wheelbarrow planter to celebrate Earth Day today.

We had plans for some more planting but rain put paid to that idea!

Peggy Sue goes to a 'new' garden centre.

Peggy Sue enjoyed an outing to a new to us garden centre today.

She found a train and wanted to take it home for Henry as she was sure he would love it.

Sadly it came with a hefty price tag so it was left behind.

We did bring home a wooden wheelbarrow planter though which she helped put together.

Hopefully we will get some flowers in the next couple of days to plant in it.

We also saw some fun ideas for 'fairy gardens'

We thought we might try making one of these at some stage.

Peggy Sue loves Bluebells

Although cold today, we ventured out to Ashridge Estate to see the Bluebells...although perhaps a little early we were not disappointed.

Peggy Sue just loved them and couldn't get enough.

They smell divine!

She had even picked something that would 'match' the colour of the Bluebells.

Aren't they wonderful?

A lovely afternoon out.
