Xanthe is happy she got a new little summer outfit to wear today...although she thinks they might be okay for sleep wear as well!

Introducing my Maori Dolls.
So the other day I introduced this little fellow...or is she a girl?
Usually you can tell by their costume, but I'm not quite certain for this one...
Next up is my tallest Maori girl...
Her name is Aroha
This slightly smaller girl is Mere
The next two belonged to my grandparents and would have been bought in the seventies or eighties.
She has a lovely face. Her name is Kiri.
I didn't realise she was quite so dusty! Oops!
This young lady has sleep eyes and her name is Ngaire
Next we have the family related to the Moana family who have 'emigrated' to Hittyville.
From left to right Tama, Tane, little Timoti, Rangi and baby Rere
Lastly we have Wairaki.
Shoes for Xanthe?
Xanthe was pleased to finally have a pair of shoes arrive for her today...
She has a little giggle to herself...
They are miles too big! They were advertised for Lati Yellows...said they might be a little big, but I didn't think they would be this much too big! Sigh, still no shoes for little Xanthe. These were so cute too.

A bit of this and a bit of that
Using up the rest of the 'Menthol' yarn I added white to the skirt to make the latest knit dress.
I quite like this - it is very fresh looking. I am currently doing the same with some of the blueberry colour I had left over.
During the week little Xanthe went for a walk in the garden.
She especially liked the little violets - them being just her size.
This cheeky fellow has joined the Maori Tribe - soon to be revealed...

Some new arrivals...
Oh dear, while there have been some departures ...we have said goodbye to Bonnie Blue Blythe, a Katie Copy Cat, a barbie and almost goodbye to Sheena (awaiting payment)... oh and of course the Moana family who have 'emigrated' to Hittyville....there have been some new arrivals as well. Not sure how that happened!
So my debt has not been reduced...if anything it has risen slightly again. Sigh...
Anyway we will ignore that for now.
The three new arrivals are:
Utz, Ron & Otti
They wander outside and meet Rosie and Amy Lynn
The girls are delighted to meet the new children and welcome them warmly
Amy Lynn and Rosie tell them all about what it is like to live here.
They are very excited to have some more playmates.

Wahine & Mahuta Moana are hoping to Emigrate
The Moana family are considering moving...
Wahine & Mahuta are fed up with the cold, damp, drizzly grey weather in ol' blighty and want to head for shores anew! They have heard that there is a lot of things going on over in Hittyville, and are hoping that there will be room to move to this inviting place.
They miss the country and from what they have heard and read, Hittyville is definitely in the country :-)
Wahine (woman or wife) is married to Mahuta (Maori King) who is actually less a warrior and more of a dreamer, which can be seen from his expression. He is a very kind hearted soul who only wants what is best for his family.
Little Hine (girl/daughter) is happy as long as she is with her parents and is quite happy nestling on her mama's back.
They are just waiting to hear back from Immigration, Visa and Passport control to see if their application has been accepted....

Feathers....
"Cackle, cackle, Mother Goose.
Have you any feathers loose?
Truly have I, pretty fellow
Half enough to fill a pillow.
Here are some quills, take one or two,
And down to make a bed for you"
Enough feathers for me or for you Owen? I have a quilt now....

Final face spa?
I've been continuing to work on 'Peggy Sue' again these last few days...not learning the lesson 'leave well enough alone' wanting to try and bring her eyes more alive. Still haven't achieved what I picture in my mind....now why didn't I take art at school? Or maybe this is the reason I didn't! Now do I keep fiddling? Or leave well enough alone. Somehow I think she looks a tiny bit cross eyed - and one tooth looks a bit pointed - but can I fix them? That is the question.
I have also trimmed her hair into a bob. It still needs a bit of taming!
Have since done a couple of alterations...

Peggy Sue insisted she have a 'Spa' day.
Inspired by Rosey's Spa Day and Peggy Sue wanting one as well, I thought I would have a go with Elisa's encouragement, knowing that if I really do stuff it up, she will come to the rescue for me!
Peggy Sue Before - this being my first ever attempt at painting eyes and faces I was reasonably happy with it, but wanted to do better. Of course I have no art background at all and only just recognise one end of the paint brush from the other, but still gave it a go and thought I would have yet another go to see if I could improve things I wasn't happy with.
Removing her wig and eye paint to have another blank canvas to work on
and yes I will shamelessly admit it, my computer with pictures of Elisa's work on Rosey in front of me.
Hmmm...not too happy with this...
Possibly a bit better...
She doesn't look quite so scary with her hair on....but I do think she is going to need some more work...ahem... spa treatment tomorrow!
