Edith and the Kitten

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

I'll catch you if you fall

Poor little Kitty is not so sure...

...fortunately he makes it down safely

The friends are happy together and Edith is relieved the little kitten is safe.

Edith the Lonely Doll c1958 Madame Alexander has been with me since May 2013 - so it was about time she was seen on this blog!

Monday's Child

Continuing with the cataloguing/cencus of my Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls, today we have of course 'Monday's Child'

Vanessa Van Gogh

It has been a very difficult summer, not just weather wise, which has just been plain disappointing, but with other things as well, so quite a bit of 'dolly therapy' has been going on over the last few weeks.

Whilst I have been good and rehomed  about 30 dolls and probably about 10 miscellaneous toys over the last couple of months a few newbies have arrived as well!  My Makies being the predominant ones, with the final two still to arrive.

I had the opportunity of rescuing a Schoenhut 'waif' who needed a new home.

She arrived late  last week - not sure if it is her original wig, but it shows what she is missing...yes you may have spotted it...

Her right ear!  Goodness knows what happened - perhaps some naughty sibling of her child owner at some stage in her past.

The dress is sweet though and she wanted to keep her dress.

I hunted through my wig box and found one that fitted her, and she already looks much happier.

She is also missing her right thumb.  I am hoping to try and repair these at some point.

This girl is a different size again.  I thought she was going to be the same size as Anne-Marie but she is actually inbetween her size and Peggy Sue's and even better she fits Sasha shoes!  This is an added bonus as I was able to find her a pair of shoes and socks that fitted and also suited her dress.

Her name is Vanessa.

She couldn't wait to go out into the garden with Peggy Sue

I think they were supposed to be picking up leaves...

But they weren't really dressed for it.  They have collected a nice array of colours though.

Peggy Sue picks up her favourite to show her.

They enjoy their time out in the garden getting to know one another and seem to be firm friends already.

Pretty girl!

Wandering with Wren - North Mymms

Wren's wanderings took her walking through countryside and some woods on this bright Autumn Sunday afternoon.

She spied some cattle in the field...which she later discovered she was supposed to come through, but decided to give that a miss...she wasn't prepared for a close encounter!

There was some lovely countryside to admire....

...from comfortable seat in a tree.

There were quite a few trees that had died and were damaged

Wren wondered if it was lightening damage and decided it was perhaps not the best place to wander during a thunder storm!

Wren discovered dandelions still flowering

Berries were plentiful and she wondered whether these were edible?

Now these fungi don't look the edible sort, but they were interesting to look at.

There were plants flowering in the hedgerow.

She spied a farmhouse

A bee making his way into the convolvulus flower

Disappeared!

Another pretty flower to stop and admire.

Thursday Doings.

The other day a little coat was up for sale on a group I am on - I missed out on it...but a few days later the person who bought it decided it didn't suit the Makie she bought it for so offered it to me, so I was pleased for this second chance offer.

Trish is the proud owner of this new coat  - although she said she needs a different dress to go underneath it.

They are certainly fussy creatures these Makies.

A little while later after rummaging around in the clothes box she found the leather skirt dress and deemed that more suitable for a girl of her standing.

She enjoys a walk outside in between showers.

Parker also grabbed the opportunity to dash outside today during a dry spell to exercise one of the dogs in his care at the veterinary hospital.

This little miniature Schnauzer Rufus is recovering well and enjoyed a walk outside with Parker

They didn't stay out too long as Parker didn't want Rufus to over do things.

Another little boy to spend a little time outdoors today was Little Thomas with a dear little friend he is looking after.

They seem quite enthralled with each other.

Thursday's Nancy Ann Storybook Doll

Today's Nancy Ann Storybook Doll is 'Colonial Dame'

Sweet girl in a lovely dress in wonderful condition for her age.
