This rather sweet little boy is I believe is either made from celluloid or a hard plastic. He has a different feel to him than the Schildkrot boy. He is quite a hard type of material and is jointed/strung together. He is marked on the back of his head with an S and PIMAR on his back. I haven't been able to find anymore information about him, but I am guessing he dates from the early 1940s to 1950s. His outfit is sewn on him and his shoes and socks are painted on.
I call him Ernest.
He's an interesting one - I don't think I've ever seen a doll quite like him.
ReplyDeleteThe bright blue of the eyes gives him such an intense look for a todder-type doll!
Isn't he unusual? I would love to know more about him.
